vox pop evaluation

To make the vox pop, I worked with Dylan to split the work and get more done in less time. I did the camera work for the vox pop, while Dylan asked the questions to the people involved in the vox pop.

I used premiere pro to edit the video and did minimal audio editing to show focus on people's answers rather than over-bearing background music or confusing editing.

In terms of production, nothing was really challenging, but we did have some things happen that slowed down production, such as people constantly coming through the footage, and being too loud in the background, but they were quickly fixed by just moving somewhere else.

Pecha Kucha Evaluation

I made the pecha kucha by using PowerPoint and taking photos online to use for my PowerPoint to get the message across. The only real setback I had was actually recording myself presenting the PowerPoint, but I was able to only present in front of 2 people, so I got through it.

From the feedback I got, it was noted that I stutter and pause often, but I was still able to make my PowerPoint clear and they understood it all just fine.

21/04/23 Evaluation

This week was only spent on catching up on work I've missed out/not done enough work on, and i had no issues getting all of it done. Today was spent planning sketches of what my product will look like, as well as what the content may be.

I focused only on the posters part of my products, but starting Monday ill also begin a storyboard for my film. i'm hoping for it to be at least a minute long but that may differ depending on my view on what the video will include.

British museum trip evaluation

The museum 'documentary' was not actually made with my own footage. Because I did not go, I had to use footage (with permission) from my classmate Denis.

I used premiere pro to edit the footage together and used a fade effect for each clip. In the short time I had that was all I could fit in terms of editing. I didn't want the video to be silent, so I chose the first song that was suggested to me, and ended up using crazy frog as the background audio.

Making the video as it's presented took around 2 hours to make in total, and personally, I'm very satisfied with how it came out.

FMP EVALUATION - 22/05/23

My FMP products are based on artistic reflections, meaning I spoke about different types of reflections in different types of media. I created 3 posters and a website that showed off and talked about said types.

At first, I didn't think I would be able to finish everything in time, especially since we were told different due dates for our practical work. I did manage to finish my practical work in time, but it meant I had to cut back on how much I could do. The original plan was to make 5 posters as well as add more to the website I made, but because of time restrictions, I could not make that much. Although I couldn't make everything that was intended, what I did make was no trouble and I'm satisfied with how everything came out.

My main focus for this FMP was getting the website done. It was made in a blog-like style, so everything is separated into its own sections. I took inspiration from the preset I used and kept the simplistic style it had. I didn't want there to be too much clutter, so that the focus could be on what is actually being written, rather than the design.

The point of my products is to inform, meaning they were made to go into detail about different types of reflections in media, and how each different type is able to convey reflections in their own unique way.

I made the website using Wix.com, and it took me about two weeks to make it. I made mock-ups using Paint and adobe photoshop for a more cleaned-up / coloured version. I used a mix of my own photos and photos taken from various sites online. I wanted to focus on getting my point across so I kept things to a minimum, including what I wrote on the website.

For my posters, I used adobe photoshop, and my process was mostly a rinse-repeat kinda thing. For all posters I made, I would start with a 'base photo', something that would be the main focus of the poster. Then, I search for a few more photos and mess around with different blending styles and effects. Each poster has its own 'aesthetic' or 'theme' to them, but I did my best to make it stick with the reflections theme somehow.
Some blending effects in Photoshop I used were luminosity, multiply, and soft light.

Overall, I believe my products ended up matching well with my initial idea, despite cutting back due to time restrictions. If I had more time, I would have gone back to my posters and possibly added more to them, meaning maybe some text that briefly describes what the message is, or a short phrase that would add to the poster, as well as added more to the website that would go more into detail about what I wrote about, and added more photos for references.
